In 2003 Ealing Trailfinders Youths set a new record for staging the world's biggest rugby tour.
|
|
The club took 264 players and coaches, supported by more than 200 relatives and fans, on their Easter journey to Ireland.
|
|
On hearing how many were on the trip to Limerick one Irish fan remarked "That's not a tour, that's an invasion!".
|
|
The trip was officially recognised by Guinness World Records and was added to the Guinness archives with the certificate stating that "the largest rugby tour consisted of 264 players and coaches from Ealing (UK) who played matches in Ireland between 11 and 14 April 2003"
