This website is committed to furthering the aims of ‘Ealing Trailfinders’ and our rugby interests.

Ealing Trailfinders, originally created as Ealing Rugby Football Club, has a rich history.
The Club was invited to form the original RFU in 1871 but failed to arrive at The Pall Mall Restaurant, in Cockspur Street, Westminster, on the agreed meeting date resulting in the ‘Ealing Rugby Football Club’ being officially established two months after the formation of the RFU. Ealing was started as a rugby club that embraced the Corinthian principles of fair play and moral values.

In 1999 Sir Mike Gooley declared a new era for the club when, following the building of The Trailfinders Sports Club, the club moved to its current home at Vallis Way.

With the name changed to ‘Ealing Trailfinders’, the Club began to rise through the leagues from National 3 South.

The Ealing Trailfinders have continued to progress winning silverware four seasons in a row culminating with the professional men’s first-team being crowned the Championship League winners and Cup Champions in 2021/22.

Further progression was celebrated when Trailfinders Women joined Allianz Premiership Women’s Rugby for the 2023/24 season. The Club is also excelling with minis and juniors at all age levels, an established academy and women’s programme with links to local colleges and universities.

In 2019 the Club decided to create Ealing Trailfinders 1871, a new amateur club with RFU accreditation. 1871 currently boasts three men’s teams who were joined ahead of the 2023/24 season by Ealing Trailfinders 1871 Women. 1871 is closely linked to the existing Ealing Trailfinders structure, shares the same club colours and facilities but operates independently within the RFU regulations and competes independently within the RFU league structure.

Ealing Trailfinders intends to maintain its ‘one club’ ethos, ensuring that all members are integrated and share in the success and enjoyment of rugby at every level of the club, be it an individual team or the overall community that is Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club.
