U14 Girls Update

Last Sunday the Ealing U14 Girls team made the trip to Cobham RFC for their first event of the season, a 10-a-side festival.

In their first match, the girls faced a cluster side from Sutton & Epson / Old Rutlishians. Despite Ealing starting strongly, by half time they were only up by one score, at 15-10. However in the second half the girls cut loose, scoring 6 tries without reply, the highlight being a coast-to-coast effort which started from behind their own try line.

The second match against Cobham was a much closer affair and finished 25-20 to the hosts. The first half had been a very dominant one for the Ealing girls, who were 20-5 up at the break.

The girls dusted themselves off and delivered a decisive performance in their next game against a rather depleted Wimbledon side with a final score of 40-15.

The highlight of the day came in the final match against a strong and organised Dorking side. The game ended 30-20 to Ealing.

Attack-wise the girls were a threat all over the pitch, and over the four matches, 12 out of 14 players got on the scoresheet, with Cameron and Sofia joint top scorers with five tries apiece.

Special mentions to Neave, Isabella and Shiro who made their U14 debuts, and to Elsa who made her first ever appearance in an Ealing shirt
