Ealing Trailfinders 1871 RFC are currently seeking paid Medical Services Staff to join the club as we embark on the 24/25 season and beyond in London & SE Division Counties 1 Herts/Middlesex.

The club has three paid vacancies:

  1. Head Physiotherapist (1871 Men’s Rugby)

  2. Medical Services Assistant (Weeknight rehabilitation)

  3. Matchday First Aid

The roles will begin in July 2024 and continue until April/May 2025.

Training takes place on Tuesday and Thursday from 18:30 – 21:00 at Vallis Way, Ealing, W13 0DD.

Games take place on Saturday afternoons at Vallis Way and across London, Middlesex and Hertfordshire. Occasional evening games are also scheduled.

Medical support opportunities for our Colts (U18s) are also available, taking place on Sundays and Thursdays. Please contact for more information. These roles will require a DBS check.

Zoe Cox, Ealing 1871 Women’s hooker is chasing the international dream this summer, with the England Deaf Women’s team.

After Zoe discovered that she was profoundly deaf during Covid-19, she has progressed through the team and is in line to tour South Africa with England in August.

Guest host Toby Holt is on hand with Jez to find out how she got to this point, who has inspired her along the way, what playing without hearing aids is like, and what the tour to South Africa will entail.

Ealing Trailfinders 1871 RFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Phil Smith as Head Coach.

Phil is a hugely experienced, level three coach and has coached at international, divisional and county levels. He was DoR at Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds gaining promotion with both clubs. Phil has coached representative rugby for Middlesex senior men, England U17s and Northampton Academy. With an impressive track record of player development, cup success and promotions he brings a wealth of knowledge to the club.

Most recently he coached at Counties Level One guiding Beaconsfield to an unbeaten season gaining promotion to level 6 and is pleased to be able to take over the reins for recently promoted Ealing 1871 in its forthcoming campaign in Counties One Herts & Middlesex league.

Phil says “Ealing Trailfinders is a great club offering development pathways for men’s and women’s, professional and amateur, players of all abilities and ambitions. The facilities at Vallis Way are superb and I’m looking forward to meeting all and contributing to the success of the 1871 squad, continuing its league successes whilst maintaining its exciting brand of running rugby.”
