Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce the signing of former Bath fly-half George Worboys for the 2024/25 season.

Worboys played a pivotal role under Nick Easter in Chinnor RFC’s promotion campaign this season, as they were promoted from National League 1 to the Championship.

The 23-year-old made 16 appearances for Chinnor while on loan, scoring 11 tries and 192 points in an impressive year.

After signing for Trailfinders, Worboys said: “Everybody in rugby recognises Ealing Trailfinders as an organisation with genuine ambition, and I am very excited by the opportunity to help the club move forward. In so many ways, in terms of the playing group, staff and facilities, this is a Premiership club in all but name – the future is bright.”

Ealing Trailfinders are pleased to announce the signing of fullback Tobi Wilson from fellow Championship side Coventry ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Wilson began his club rugby career with Newport before progressing his way through the Worcester Warriors senior academy. During this period, he also featured for England’s Under-18s development squad.

He made his first competitive appearance for Worcester against Gloucester back in December 2021 in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

The 20-year-old had a brief spell on loan at National League 1 side Birmingham Moseley before making the move to Coventry. Wilson made 24 appearances for the West Midlands side, scoring eight tries in his one-and-a-half-year stint at the club.

After signing for Trailfinders, Wilson said: “I’m very excited to join the Championship winners. Playing against Trailfinders a couple of times this season, I really enjoy the brand of rugby they play, and think it will suit me massively and help me develop as a player. Can’t wait to get stuck in and meet the players, coaches, staff and the fans.”

The celebrations kicked off after Trailfinders win over Bedford on Saturday.

Congratulations to the team and all of the staff who built towards our success.

A huge thank you to all of the fans for your support and following along the way.

Ealing Trailfinders capped off their Championship winning campaign in style with a 59-12 rout of fourth placed Bedford Blues.

A hat-trick of tries from Reuben Bird-Tulloch, two from Angus Kernohan and scores from Simon Uzokwe, Cam Terry, Tom Collins and Frankie Sleightholme wrapped up the 2023-24 season in perfect fashion.

Uzokwe opened the scoring for the home side nine minutes in, crashing over the line after sustained pressure inside the Bedford 22. Dan Lancaster converted.

The hat-trick hero and man of the match Bird-Tulloch then extended the lead 10 minutes later after some slick hands in midfield allowed him to score untouched. Lancaster added the extras.

Congratulations to Ruben who was awarded Player of the Match.

Trailfinders Women’s final home game of the season ended in the narrowest of defeats, losing 18-19 to Loughborough Lightning in their PWR clash at TFSC.

Tries from Abby Dow, Vicky Laflin and two Ellie Green penalties left Trailfinders just short against a tough Loughborough side, despite their phenomenal efforts.

A remarkably long opening phase of play lead to Lightning’s first try, as back and forth possession forced the away side to attack with width, resulting in a try from Laura Keates.

Trailfinders hit back through Red Rose superstar Abby Dow, using her lightning pace to score down the left flank, after an excellently retrieved box kick by Megan Barwick set the home side up in great territory.

Ellie Green then put Trailfinders ahead from the tee after successive Loughborough infringements 18 minutes in.

Lightning were further penalised seven minutes later, this time for not rolling away just outside their 22, and Green’s kick at goal rattled off the posts and over to make it 11-7.

Loughborough then thought they had retrieved the lead shortly after, as some fluid play orchestrated by Emily Scarratt had them over the line, but it was called back for a knock on.

In answer to this close call, Trailfinders responded with some spectacular rugby to extend their lead to 11 points.

Ealing Trailfinders are delighted to announce the signing of powerful lock forward Sean Lonsdale from Welsh side Dragons RFC.

The 26-year-old will be moving to West London following two seasons with the URC outfit, having made 17 appearances in the 23/24 season across all competitions. He is equally comfortable in the back row.

Londale’s career took off during his time at Welsh championship team RGC 1404, where he caught the eye of Premiership side Exeter Chiefs. Moving to the Chiefs in 2016, Lonsdale scored five tries in 61 appearances during his six-year stint in Devon.

After signing for Trailfinders, Lonsdale said: “I’m very much looking forward to joining Ealing Trailfinders. They’ve proven themselves to be a dominant force in the Championship for a number of years with quality across the board, and I’m excited to see what I can add to the team, whilst challenging myself playing in a different league against different opposition.”
